The current situation and analysis of plastic packaging materials in China (I)

Under the difficult conditions of rising raw material prices and fierce market competition, plastic packaging enterprises, under the guidance of the central macro-control policy, actively adjusted the product structure, changed the mode of production and operation and economic growth. Through the unremitting efforts of the majority of employees, the ability of enterprises to innovate in science and technology and resist risks has been continuously enhanced, New achievements have been made. According to preliminary statistics, the total output of plastic packaging materials increased from 7.035 million tons in 2004 to 8.075 million tons, with a growth rate of 14.8%. In the past year, the product quality and technical level have been improved, the market circulation has increased significantly, and the production and marketing trend has tended to develop steadily and in a good direction. The growth rate of composite base materials (BOPP, BOPET, CPP, BOPA) is faster than that of other products. To sum up, the development of main products has the following characteristics:

the BOPP industry is developing towards specialization, collectivization and scale

the output of BOPP in 2005 increased by 27.7% compared with that in 2004. The reason is that in addition to the continuous production of more than 20 production lines introduced in the previous three years and the increase of production capacity, in the case of raw material prices, The BOPP industry can tide over the difficulties and the production and sales volume rebound. The key is the increasing market demand for the application of food, tobacco, household chemicals and drugs, which has promoted the steady development of BOPP. The more important reason is that the State implements timely and appropriate macro-control policies, and enterprises adjust the product structure in time. The price rise of raw materials is a double-edged sword, which makes the industry enter the era of low profit or low profit, and increases the pressure of enterprises. On the other hand, it promotes the improvement of the core competitiveness of enterprises. Those with small scale, poor quality and weak independent research and development ability are gradually eliminated by the market. Competition also promotes the maturity of the market, promotes the expansion of scale, and seeks new growth points. In 2005, the development trend of large-scale and collectivization of BOPP industry was very obvious. According to the statistical analysis of 64 enterprises, 10 group companies, including Jiangsu Shenda, Foshan, Hongming, Zhejiang dadongnan, Jiangsu HENGCHUANG, Hefei jinlingrick, Ningbo Yasu technology, Zhejiang Yimei, Shaoxing Fuling, Guangdong Jieyang Yuntong and Guangdong Deguan, all produced more than 50000-14000 tons, with a total output of 830200 tons, accounting for 51.8% of the total. There are 19 Enterprises with an output of 20000-40000 tons, with an output of 464000 tons. The total output of these two 29 enterprises is 1.294 million tons, accounting for 78% of the total output of 1.66 million tons, which fully shows that the market mechanism of BOPP's large-scale, collectivization and survival of the fittest has initially taken shape. Enterprises with small scale and poor quality have basically withdrawn from the market, and some have changed factories, auctions, transfers, etc. there are only more than 60 existing enterprises from the original 87 enterprises in the industry. It can be said that the disorderly competition based on low prices has improved, and a new order based on core competitiveness is taking shape. BOPET film has a strong development momentum, and the development of functional film market is the key.

according to statistics, in 2005, there were 33 production enterprises of BOPET film, with a total output of 338000 tons, including 12 enterprises with an output of more than 10000 tons, with a total output of 242500 tons, accounting for 71.7% of the total output. Accounting for only 1/3 of the number of enterprises, it accounts for more than 70% of the market share of the whole industry, which indicates the trend of large-scale development of BOPET film. At present, the development momentum of BOPET film is too strong, and the production capacity has increased sharply. Since 2003, nearly 30 new production lines have been added, with a new capacity of about 400000 tons. By 2005, the production capacity of 23 enterprises will reach 570000 tons. It is expected that by 2006, this will reach 650000-700000 tons related to innovation and development. The development is overheated, and the situation of market supply exceeding demand has been formed. Under the guidance of objective regulation and control policies, several production lines have cancelled the signed contracts and withdrew from the market by themselves, but the situation is still not optimistic. Therefore, efforts must be made to develop new application markets and enhance the ability to occupy the international market. Developing functional BOPET film is a new trend of industry development:

1. Developing functional film

with the continuous expansion of BOPET application field, higher requirements are put forward for its performance, that is, giving new functions, so that the demand for BOPET continues to increase. At present, new functional products are being developed and produced at home and abroad, including high-strength film and high packaging machine 'target'=_ Blank> transparent film, Matt Film, colored film, antistatic film, surface conductive film, flame retardant film, light resistant film, barrier gas film, heat sealing film, heat shrinkable film, etc. Enterprises can selectively develop special special membranes as the product development direction according to their own conditions, technical strength and market demand

2. Realize branding and enhance export capacity

according to relevant data reports, the world's demand for polyester film was 1.686 million tons in 2004. It is predicted that there will be more than 250 BOPET production lines in 2005, with a production capacity of 2.78 million tons and a social demand of 1.7 million tons. In the next five years, the global total demand will increase by an average annual rate of 6.1%. Tape film was once the main use of polyester film, and it is expected to continue to decline in the next five years. The production of tape film in the United States, Japan and Europe will gradually shift to packaging and industrial film. DuPont film and Toray are currently the largest film producers (with a production capacity of 300000 tons), while Mitsubishi film and SKC have a production capacity of 150000-180000 tons. In 2004, the production capacity of these four companies accounted for 48% of the total world production capacity that enables them to rotate with each other. Due to the large-scale production of BOPET in China, it is predicted that the proportion of these four companies will fall to 38% by 2009

in 2005, the global demand for BOPET film was 1.7 million tons, including 450000 tons in the Americas, 340000 tons in Japan, 338000 tons in China, 150000 tons in India and 140000 tons in South Korea. China, India and ASEAN countries saw the fastest growth in demand. Recently, the demand of Russia, Turkey, Iran, Syria and other countries has shown strong growth, with relatively large development space. The above information shows that the global production capacity of BOPET film has exceeded demand, and trade barriers are inevitable, which requires avoiding price wars in exports, and vigorously exploring market development and research in ASEAN, Russia, Turkey, Iran, Syria and other countries. To increase exports, the key is to make efforts to realize branding from the perspective of consumers, cultivate their own international marketing team, and enhance their competitiveness in the international market

BOPA film has developed rapidly, and market development is the focus.

according to statistics, there are 12 BOPA enterprises introduced in the whole industry, and 17 production lines have been introduced to drive the demand for power batteries to increase rapidly, with an annual production capacity of about 70000 tons. In 2005, some production lines were put into operation, with an output of 27000 tons and an import of 10000 tons. The total domestic demand was 37000 tons, breaking the situation of only one production, and the oversupply situation was further deepened, The market competition is more intense

at present, BOPA enterprises' top priority is to develop the market. BOPA film is mainly used for cooking bags, frozen vacuum packaging, fresh meat, cheese, flavored food packaging and covering materials. It is used in the food composite packaging market, and the other markets are mainly the pharmaceutical packaging and printing industries. There is a long way to go to expand the application in these markets. Fundamentally speaking, improving the quality and technical level of BOPA film is the key. Nylon film processing is difficult. Some of the introduced production lines have immature technology and poor film-forming property. It is necessary to explore experience in the processing process, constantly adjust the process conditions and improve the yield. It is also difficult to apply in the downstream, especially the poor hygroscopic and waterproof properties of BOPA film, which can be widely used only if it is closely coordinated with the composite process technology. At the same time, the multilayer coextrusion film of PVDC has been applied in chilled meat, and it is also a competitor of BOPA, which deserves attention
